About the Maksutov-Cassegrain

Although it’s not as widely known as the refractor or Newtonian reflector, the Maksutov-Cassegrain offers superb optical performance. Using a Maksutov corrector lens on the front of the optical tube and a series of mirrors, “Mak-Cass” telescopes correct for visual defects like chromatic aberration and coma. The result is pinpoint stars and high contrast views.
