Telescope Carrying Case for Meade LX 14″, RCX 12″
Meade LX200GPS 14″, LX200R 14″, RCX400 12″
Now that’s strong! Check out the JMI case being put to the ultimate test.
The case includes six lockable latches for the removable cover (no hinge), two folding handle bars and a steel-reinforced handle. It also has die-cut foam lining with compartments for telescope, eyepieces, finder scope and accessories. The finder scope must be removed from the telescope. Protective covers are provided for the finder and hand control. The focuser does not need to be removed before installation. The top of the case is not hinged. It is removed completely to insert or remove the telescope. The case is designed to be maneuvered like a wheelbarrow with the two retractable handle bars and two 10″ pneumatic wheels. Installation of the wheels and support rails is easy and requires two 7/16″ wrenches (or two crescent wrenches) and an included 15/16″ wrench. This case is compatible with Peterson ergonomic Get-A-Grip handles.
Outside dimensions of the case are approximately 51-1/4″ x 28-1/4″ x 23-3/4″ (assembled with handle bars retracted) and its empty weight is approximately 52.0 lbs (including accessory covers). The top half weighs approximately 14.4 lbs. and the bottom half weighs approximately 37.0 lbs (assembled). The two shipping boxes are approximately 49-1/4″ x 11″ x 28″ each (UPS Ground Oversized 2 rate is at 70 lbs for each box) and the shipping weight is approximately 34.0 lbs for the top (including unassembled wheels and hardware) and 31.4 lbs. for the bottom for a total of 65.4 lbs. All values are subject to slight changes.
