Celestron’s innovative new StarPointer Pro makes locating objects in the night sky easier and more comfortable than ever before. The ultra-wide 40mm optical window with 1x magnification is much more forgiving than a traditional red dot finderscope, allowing you to see the projection from a variety of angles and distances. Instead of a dot, StarPointer Pro features a dual circle reticle.
This premium finderscope is an ideal complement to just about any telescope, from a large Dobsonian to a computerized Schmidt-Cassegrain. Mounting hardware is included to accommodate a variety of finderscope rails. Spend less time locating objects and more time enjoying them!
A finderscope made for astronomy
Red dot finders are a favorite among amateur astronomers, but these handy sights actually originated in airsoft. While a red dot is perfect for accurately placing your shot, it’s not the ideal marker for astronomy. If you’re trying to locate a small, faint, or fuzzy object, the red dot can completely cover or obscure your target, making it difficult to center with perfect accuracy.
Enter the StarPointer Pro. Rather than covering up your target with a bright red dot, this reflex sight features two concentric circles. Once the finderscope is properly aligned, simply place your object inside the smallest circle, and you’ll have it dead center in your telescope’s eyepiece. Whether you’re observing the Moon and Venus during the day or under the darkest of dark skies, the StarPointer Pro can adapt to any environment thanks to its adjustable brightness LED.
Starhopping made easy
StarPointer Pro’s design goes beyond helping you locate bright celestial objects you can see. The concentric circles also serve as a measuring tool, helping you to “star hop” to dimmer objects. StarPointer Pro’s larger circle covers 2 degrees of the night sky; the smaller circle encompasses 1.2 degrees. If you’d like to locate an object 6 degrees away from a star you have centered in the StarPointer Pro, simply measure three of the larger circle lengths.
