This finder goes beyond a simple dot or reticle and actually includes familiar star patterns to help you set up your telescope properly. If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, you’ll align the stars with the image of the Big Dipper during the spring and summer months or “W”-shaped Cassiopeia in the winter months. This finder can also be used in the Southern Hemisphere; simply align the four stars of Octans in the finder. In addition to these easily recognizable asterisms, the finder also indicates Polaris and the celestial pole.
