Celestron 1.25″ Variable Polarizing Filter
This Celestron 1.25″ Variable Polarizing Filter is crucial for to achieving optimal views that reduce the brightness of celestial objects like the Moon and Venus. Unlike conventional Moon and Neutral Density filters, this filter can reduce the brightness to as little as 1%, or increased up to 40%. A simple twist of the filter’s lower ring allows you to make brightness adjustments.
This filter is not just great for visual astronomy, however. Use the filter when capturing images of the night sky when you don’t want to alter the color of the object you are imaging. This makes the Celestron vAriable Polarizing Filter particularly useful when imaging the Moon. By reducing the brightness, lunar details become more pronounced and defined. The 1.25″ Variable Polarizer can also be used to darken the blue-sky background when hunting for planets like Venus or Jupiter in the daylight, making the planet stand out from the background.
The Celestron Variable Polarizing filter can be threaded onto almost any 1.25” eyepiece. It can even be threaded onto either side so you can stack it with other filters, such as color or neutral density if needed.
