Sky-Watcher’s Star Adventurer Mini is the ideal mount for photographers to take on the go! This mount is an extremely precise, steady tracking platform designed for sidereal, solar, and lunar tracking with automatic DSLR shutter release control. This all comes together in a light, compact package that easily fits into a camera bag or backpack for easy portability.

An essential device for astrophotographers of any proficiency and experience level, the SAM works as both a compact travel mount and a tracking platform for capturing wide-field images of the Milky Way. Transforms nearly any tripod into an equatorial mount, helping photographers with long night sky exposures. Mobile Platform

The free SAM console app (for iOS and Android) allows users to customize their tracking speeds, deciding between sidereal, solar, and lunar, or other custom presets, beneficial for time-lapse videos. Even for users completely lacking in polar alignment experience, setting up the Star Adventurer Mini is simple with the included illuminated polar finder. As soon as alignment is achieved, users can attach their camera and initiate sidereal tracking to begin photographing the Milky Way.

Easy Integration with Any Tripod

The declination assembly utilizes a specific Vixen-style saddle for a camera, tripod head, or optical tube attachment. Securing a ball head to the Vixen-style dovetail gives the most users enough flexibility to simultaneously maintain tracking while freely slewing around the sky. The SAM tracking platform attaches to tripods via a 3.8″-16 thread and comes with an adapter for 1/4″-20 thread sizes.

Automatic Shutter Release Control

With the Star Adventurer Mini, there’s no longer any need for an intervalometer timer. Completely programmable shutter exposure settings allow the SAM to trigger a DSLR camera with the auxiliary shutter release cable. After the camera has been plugged into the mount and a shot has been taken, the camera will not stop shooting programmed exposures unless the cable is removed.

The Star Adventurer Mini features a 6.6 lb. (3 kg) payload capacity, providing a versatile compact tracking mount for nightscape photographers, traveling astronomers, and anyone desiring a small tracking mount.

Customized Setup

Several additional accessories are available for the Star Adventurer Mini Mount. Its equatorial base enables this platform to polar align and track in the RA axis, converting an ordinary photo tripod into a valuable tool for astrophotography. Clutches on both axes allow users to aim the SAM without compromising polar alignment. For photographers capturing nightscapes, the included ball head adapter delivers consistent tracking while enabling more freedom to frame images.
