The Sky-Watcher Dec Bracket is a very versatile piece of equipment for the Star Adventurer Multi-Purpose Mount. Also known as the Fine Tuning Mounting Assembly, the Dec Bracket connects a telescope to the Star Adventurer and allows the user to make adjustments to declination.
The Star Adventurer Dec Bracket consists of two pieces, the Fine-Tuning Mounting Element and a Dovetail. The Fine-Tuning Mounting portion connects to your telescope, and has both a clutch knob, which allows you to adjust the tightness of the rotation, and a fine tuning knob, for slight adjustments to the telescope’s orientation in declination.
There are several ways to configure your telescope and/or camera set up when you use the Dec Bracket on the Star Adventurer Mount. The Fine-Tuning Mounting portion of the Dec Bracket connects to the dovetail component with two bolts. The dovetail has two 3/8″ mounting bolts on either end. With the mounting element attached to the dovetail, you can use one of the threaded bolts to mount your favorite photographic ball head on the opposite end. Alternatively, you can separate the mounting element from the dovetail and connect a ball head at both ends, or you can mount a camera on one end and a ball head on the other.
The Dec Bracket comes standard with the Star Adventurer Astro Package.
