Thinking about a Sky-Watcher Quattro Imaging Newtonian? Add this Quattro Coma Corrector to the system for pinpoint star images to the edges of the field.
Correct the coma inherent in Newtonian parabolic mirrors
Newtonians are wonderful telescopes! They are simple and easy to use, are way more cost effective than more complicated optical designs, and because Newtonians use mirrors instead of lenses, no extra color is introduced to the image. However, everything comes at a price, and one of the prices to pay for owning a Newtonian is the coma, or comet-shaped stars, that appear along the edges of the field of view in parabolic mirrors. However, there is an easy solution to comatic aberration, and that solution is a coma corrector.
Sky-Watcher has designed a coma corrector specifically for the Quattro line of imaging Newtonians. The four-element ED corrector is made with FPL51 fluorite and Schott glass, for beautiful pinpoint stars to the edge of the field without altering the magnification. The Quattro Coma Corrector requires 55mm of back focus, and has a 48mm thread mount. Nikon and Canon adapters are available separately.
